Saturday 13th May
10am-4pm
A course to give you the confidence and skills to safely navigate while outdoors in a lowland environment.
Expect lots of hands-on practice with opportunities to learn how to plan a route, read a map, use a compass, work out timings and orientate yourself when lost.
Don’t worry if you know nothing about the outdoors or navigation – we’ll start from scratch. This course is fun, informal and ideal for beginners or those wanting to refresh their knowledge.
You don’t need to be super fit to participate (we’re not going to be running any races!), but you should be comfortable being on your feet most of the day with a day pack, and able to walk comfortably (but slowly) for around 5 hours.
Booking and details on Love Her Wild website www.loveherwild.com/nav-day-2023/
"What a great antidote to the news...get outside and eat some leaves!"
"What a fab day. You were amazingly knowledgeable, I was so impressed."
Heard people talk about wild garlic but not confident you know what it is? Want to know what other wild greens you're missing out on?
Join me to learn how to ID amazing common wild spring edibles. Using all your senses, you will gain confidence in identification, be able to recognise & avoid common poisonous plants, enjoy some tasters and leave with ideas for how to use the spring abundance.
Tasters - I'll bring some goodies to share made from wild ingredients including wild greens pesto.
We'll also discuss best practices in foraging and how to start the journey towards reconnecting ourselves to nature’s abundance all around us.
"I learned so much before we even left the carpark..."
"What a wonderful experience, we loved it."
Curious about wild plants?
Excited about spring?
Don't want to poison your children?!
Just fancy some fresh air and a chat?
Join me at Godalming station for a wander down the River Wey where I’ll be pointing out the spring edibles, showing you how to be confident in their identification, giving you ideas for their use, and talking about how to start the journey towards reconnecting ourselves to nature’s abundance all around us.
Tasters - I'll bring some goodies to share made from wild ingredients including wild greens pesto.

I started these workshops as wanted something to do with my 12-year-old daughter that involved us learning new skills together whilst enjoying the outdoors, away from screens and shopping.
This workshop is most appropriate for ages 9-13 but older teens are welcome.
All children must be accompanied by a parent.
This workshop is focused on creating space for precious one-on-one time with your child. However, if you would like to bring along siblings or close friends, please get in touch. If you are not the parent, or primary carer, of the child joining you, I will ask for parental consent in a form I will send to you by email.
This event is entirely outside so please dress accordingly and wear warm, waterproof footwear and warm outdoor clothing that you don't mind getting smoky and muddy, with long sleeves and long trousers. Jeans aren't appropriate as will be cold if it's wet. There is a shelter in case it's raining but it is open at the sides so if rain is forecast bring waterproofs or umbrellas and note that we have a 5 min walk into the camp. Note that there is a toilet at the meeting point, but it's also ok to wild wee in the woods.
Please bring a bottle of water, any personal medication and a sense of humour!
In almost all weathers, the workshop will go ahead, the shelter and the trees protect us from the worst of the elements. If the forecast is for risky weather conditions I will get in touch with you directly about postponing or cancelling the event.
See Important Info for circumstances where I will cancel, & other booking terms & conditions. Booking a ticket is deemed acceptance of my terms & conditions.
I'll send you an email the week before the event reminding you what to wear, bring, exactly where to meet etc.
A unique walking tour of the City with time to enjoy lunch and shopping too! Maximize your sightseeing with this exceptional tour.
